Over 500 years ago, Lord Sri Chaitanya prophesied that the sacred name of Lord Krishna would be reverberating in every town and village across the globe. Fast forward to September 1965, when His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada embarked on a transformative journey from India to fulfill this ancient prediction. This venerable 70-year-old monk would go on to spark a worldwide spiritual revolution, giving birth to what we now know as the Hare Krishna Movement.
In the hallowed footsteps of our beloved founder-acharya, A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada, and with an unwavering commitment to advancing spiritual knowledge, we, at Hare Krishna Movement Madhya Pradesh, have been steadfastly engaged in a range of spiritual, educational, and cultural initiatives. Our mission is driven by a heartfelt dedication to fostering physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being in all those we serve.
In 1966, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada established the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), outlining seven distinct and explicit objectives for its mission and purpose.
To systematically propagate spiritual knowledge to society at large and to educate all people in the techniques of spritual life in order to check the imbalance of values in life, and to achieve real unity and peace in the world.
To propagate a consciousness of Kṛṣṇa as He is revealed in Bhagavad-gita and Srimad Bhagavatam.
To bring the members of the society together with each other and nearer to Krsna, and thus to develop the idea within the members and humanity at large that each soul is part and parcel of the Supreme Personality of Godhead.
To teach and encourage the sankirtan movement, congregational chanting of the holy name of God, and to reveal the teachings of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu.
To erect for the members, and the society at large, a holy place of transcendental pastimes, dedicated to the Personality of Godhead.
To bring the members closer together for the purpose of teaching a simple and more natural way of life.
With a view towards achieving the aforementioned purposes, to publish and distribute periodicals, magazines, books and other writings.
In 1966, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada laid the foundation for the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as the Hare Krishna Movement. This significant endeavor was undertaken with the primary objective of disseminating the teachings of Lord Krishna as elucidated in the Bhagavad-gita and Srimad-Bhagavatam.
